Hey sixth graders! There you got the point. No class today. However, we can not stop here. Remember, if you own Mr. Melendez a project or homework, this the moment to hand it in to me.

Today's homework: Read the text selection When I was Puerto Rican and be ready to answer comprehension questions. The story can be found in this Blog.

Memoirs is a genre which allows you to share your experiences. That is what Esmeralda did.

When reading the story, pay attention to prefixes and suffixes.
Hello fifth graders! I know you are happy! Don't worry! Class will be resumed as soon as possible.

At least for now, I want you to remember what the types of sentences are. You also need to know how to recognize them. Nothing better than a game.

This is also a good game which can help in understanding the sentence structure.

Remember, the personal narrative! Go over the instructions that were given to you last Friday. Don't forget it. If you own Mr. Melendez a homework, bring it up right away.

The Non Fiction Book deadline is April 17, 2015. You are going to create your own non fiction story. You could write two paragraphs on each page. You must use simple and compound sentences to deliver your non fiction story. Be creative! You can use pictures to make your story more interesting. Here you can see examples! Warning, Mr. Melendez does not want something you did not create.
